the yarnisan story
Susan Sawvell is a military wife and mother of four who began crocheting seven years ago while staying at home with her young children. She created her first piece at the request of one of her children who wanted a very specific stuffed animal inspired by their grandmother’s quilts.
Since then, Susan has honed her skills and expanded them to create a wide range of products for babies and young children, including newborn to twin-sized blankets. She can create original appliqués and is skilled in modern, unique designs as well as more traditional styles that grandmas used to make. She enjoys exploring fun textures and styles ranging from simple and understated to bold and unique.
Every Yarnisan item is handmade to order, with love, and is completely customizable and ready for everyday use. They’re also machine washable in cold water, and tumble dry low on most pieces.
